How is the price of a private driver calculated?

Your quotation is based on your travel dates, number of days, planned route, vehicle requirements and number of travellers. Send us your itinerary — or the destinations you want to visit — and we will prepare a transport quotation for your specific journey.

What is included in the private-driver price?

Our standard private-driver quotations normally include the agreed vehicle and driver, fuel for your confirmed route, highway tolls, parking and the driver's accommodation and meals. Your written quotation will clearly confirm the exact inclusions for your trip.

Can I hire a private driver for my entire Sri Lanka trip?

Yes. We arrange multi-day private-driver journeys across Sri Lanka, including transport between destinations, hotel pickups and drop-offs, sightseeing stops and airport transfers included in your agreed route.

Can we book our own hotels?

Yes. You can book all accommodation independently and use Ceyland Drivers only for your private transport. Send us your hotel locations, travel dates and planned route and we can quote the driving service around your existing itinerary.

Will we normally have the same driver throughout our tour?

For suitable multi-day journeys, we normally aim to provide the same dedicated driver throughout your tour. If a different arrangement is required for any part of your journey, it will be communicated during the booking process.

Do your private drivers speak English?

Yes, English-speaking drivers can be arranged for private journeys around Sri Lanka. If you need another language or a specialist guide, tell us when requesting your quotation so the appropriate arrangement can be discussed.

Can I customize my Sri Lanka itinerary?

Yes. Your route can be arranged around your travel dates, hotels, preferred destinations, interests and pace. You can send us a complete itinerary or tell us the places you would like to visit and we can help organize the driving route.

What vehicle is suitable for our group and luggage?

We recommend a suitable vehicle after reviewing the number of travellers, amount of luggage, route and comfort requirements. Seating and luggage capacity are confirmed before booking so the vehicle is appropriate for your journey.

Can child seats be arranged?

Child seats can be requested when you send us your travel details. Please tell us the children's ages and requirements so availability and the appropriate arrangement can be confirmed before booking.

Can my driver pick me up from Colombo Airport?

Yes. Pickup or drop-off at Bandaranaike International Airport can be included as the beginning or end of your agreed private-driver journey.

What is the difference between a private driver and a licensed guide?

An English-speaking private driver provides your transport and helps with the practical journey between destinations. A licensed tourist or specialist guide is a separate service for more detailed guiding at particular sites or throughout a tour. Guide services should be specifically requested and confirmed when required.

Can Ceyland Drivers help arrange safaris and activities?

Yes, we can assist with selected safaris and activities when requested. Safari jeeps, national park fees, attraction tickets and optional experiences are not automatically included in the private-driver price unless they are specifically listed in your quotation.

Is it worth hiring a private driver in Sri Lanka?

For travellers visiting several destinations, a private driver can make the journey much simpler. You travel directly between hotels and attractions without repeatedly arranging taxis or planning your holiday around fixed public-transport schedules.

How do deposits and cancellations work?

Our usual booking deposit is 30%. If a different payment requirement applies because of a specific supplier or arrangement, we will tell you before payment. Applicable cancellation and amendment terms will also be provided with your written booking arrangements before you proceed.
